Being told that there's a secret law that requires one to show ID before an American citizen can travel in his own country struck John as illegal.
John Gilmore, is suing the Justice Department because it has secret laws requiring people to show ID when flying on a commercial domestic plane. Ashcroft tried to file a secret brief to keep the secret law a secret, but the court said no secrets allowed.
Bill sez: "The 9th Circuit US Court of Appeals rejected a Department of Justice attempt to file a secret brief in Gilmore vs. Ashcroft, a case that involves secret law.
"In a one page order, the Court denied DOJ's motion asking the Court's permission to file their arguments in secret, allowing only the judges to read their full brief. A DOJ motion to suspend the briefing schedule was similarly denied."
In addition, how could any 'law' requiring any citizen to do anything be a secret, unless of course we are transported back to a "Brave New World" such as the Third Reich?
Technically, the Bush regime is the Fourth Reich

I'm guessing Rome was one of the reich's.
Not sure what the second reich was, possibly emporer Constantine,
or maybe Napoleon.
Hitler's was the third reich.
And Bush has the wannabe fourth reich.
If he can't come up with a world war in the next 60 days,
he'll probably miss his chance.
