Producers of Starvation
Green Capitalism of Corporations and Environmentalistsmark 29 Jan 2005 14:28 GMT (translated by mark)In South America we are currently witness to the creation of a Roundtable of Corporations for “Sustainable Soya”. An iniciative of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the idea is, with the pretext of conserving high biodiversity regions, to legitimise the expansion of industrial monocultures of GM soya and the introduction of intensive models of meat and milk production. It is a strategy of Green Capitalism with the objective of satisfying the growing demands from the the European and Chinese markets and in this way to continue paying the illegitimate external debt to the international financial institutions, ignoring the internal food demand. In Argentina this proposal has taken form through the “The harvest of a hundred million” project lead by Fundación Vida Silvestre – WWF Argentina. A project of expansion of the area cultivated by about 10 million hectares. This expansion means war on the indigenous communities and farmers who are resisting the advance of industrial corporate agriculture. It means that Argentina will lose the the minimal local production that is still surviving, its fields will be just a source of fodder and of meat for the growing world markets even with the social crisis of our countrey where more than half of the population is found under the line of poverty and indigence. This model of industrial agriculture orientated to exportation means the expansion of agribusiness based GM industrial agriculture, agrichemicals and deforestation. THE BEATLES???? Are you just descovering the Beatles and your complaining about them in 2005? High court get over it, Will ya. Is this suppose to be a joke page, I mean really who cares about the Beatles. Count to 10, Take your meds, splash some water on your face and chill out. There is bigger issues in the world than to whine about your taste in music. It is scary to think that there is people out there in the world who think like you. I pray you don't have a gun - you lunitic. By the way... 6 or the sixties (60's) is not the number of the beast... three sixes are (666). Learn your Bible before you qoute it - Idiot!!
Sincerly, the 6 Judges (Judge F, Judge U, Judge C, Judge K and Judge U)
this isn't even funny - I feel embarresed for the writer

I stopped reading this crap a few lines down and I think others who happened to opened up this poor web site with this terrible column from a writer who has too much time on his hands and with too many mentally-instable thoughts. All lies and no facts. You even misquoted your own Bible. Jesus taught peace, charity and love.(but the greatest of these is love). If you want to follow in the Lords footsteps try writing something a little more positive. Huh? Leave the tearing down to Satan. OK? Because it's like the Saints Paul and John said "All you need is Love".
PS. don't do anything crazy like killing people from a roof top or something, because everyone thinks your crazy and your article that took you so much time to write sucks.. OK?
GM Food=devastation

I am surprised by the ignorance of someone that posts such a response. Somehow you were directed to indymedia, so it seems like you would have an open mind. Anyway, the point at hand. GM products are a growing problem in the world. Local farmers land is being bulldozed and their villages torched so that these harmful altered food products can be harvested. You can't try and duplicate nature, it just isn't so. There have been some wonderful scientific breakthroughs, however many of them are just plain tampering with the natural course of things. Genetically modified food means well. Yeah, feed the world and end starvation. The problem with it is that nobody knows the long term effects of putting that food into the ground and into our bodies. It most likely will have an everlasting damaging effect on environment and species. So don't criticise the writer because he has credence on this.
GM = Imperialism
Regime change 2005 03.Feb.2005 08:56
Genetically Modified foods are also the growing weapon of Western Imperialism . . . but theses days, what isn't really? President Mugabe of Zimbabwe refused food supplies and seeds that would have fed the millions that are starving to death every day in Zimbabwe. Why would he do such a thing? Well, grasshoppah, they are TOXIC, and chemically and hormonally ENGINEERED!!! No one knows exactly what is put into the wonder crops, what their effects are, or whether a persons body (whom has never inhaled such Western crap, like a twinkie, can handle the rush of chemicals. Yes, people need to eat, but lest I remind you that people also need to be healthy, and that whatever they have in their bodies will go directlt into their offsprings. Kids don't deserve that type of future!
Peace :-)
proper research

to the person who wrote the previous comment "GM=IMPERIALISM"
you should check into your foreign evil dictators before you support them.
i think Mugabe sent the genetically modified food back for other reasons.
If you look into this very nice and pleasnt man you will find that he is the main reason for the famine in zimbabwe.
trust me the people of zimbabwe will take any kind of food even if it is a twinkie.
by the way in no way or form do i condone genetically modified food just true facts.
look around you, it's everywhere

Genetic Modification is not the problem in this situation. GM foods are everywhere. An apple growing now, in a natural orchard, is not the same as one grown in the past. Genetic evolution is dynamic and unstoppable. The real problems at hand have emerged from political and economic factors.
