PALESTINE – OCCUPATION
Israeli Army Dismantles Bil’in Peace ‘Outpost’Israel IMC 23 Dec 2005 11:55 GMTWednesday morning a group of Bil’in villagers, supported by Israeli and International activists, established an ‘outpost’ on lands recently cut off from the village by construction of ‘separation barrier’ in the West Bank. The ‘outpost’, permitted by Bil’in’s council and slated to serve as a peace center, was located only 100 meters from Matityahu East neighborhood of the illegal Israeli settlement Upper Modi’in. This evening the Israeli army dismantled the peace ‘outpost’ only 48 hours after it's establishment, contradicting it's accommodation of Israeli settlements and sparking a national discussion about apartheid. Seven activists arrested during the dismantling were later released after waiting for hours due to their refusal to sign orders preventing them from entering Bil'in for the next 15 days. For the past 10 months Bil’in has struggled in the face of the Israeli occupation’s continued land confiscations, this time under the guise of Israel’s ‘security barrier’, demonstrating every Friday along with Israeli and International activists. Several Bil’in youths are currently incarcerated in Israeli jails, and several Israeli activists are facing charges following the demonstrations. The village continues ongoing activities: meetings, tours of the wall, direct actions, and the peace center. Today, despite Israeli army's tear gas, a few youth from Bil'in reportedly made their way to the center carrying cement hoping to keep working on the structure. Images: 1, 2,3. |

Go to Palestine
deniedentry 25.Dec.2005 19:57
Badass actions continue on a weekly basis in Palestine. Palestinians have been working with Israeli Anarchists and international activists for years. As more and more international activists get denied entry into the country, there is an even greater need for new people to go to Palestine and participate in these actions! It's a great experience (expecially when you chase fucking soldiers out of an olive tree grove)
GET OVER THERE!

Update of Bil'in center of joint struggle for peace
Ilan S. 26.Dec.2005 18:08
During last night, after the threat of the "civil occupation administrative" threat to dismantle the second coming too, a solid building was constructed during the night. Thus, when they came this morning to confiscate the second container, the solid structure was ready. The "legality" of destruction of this structure is more complicated and they only served an order of destruction for the 5th of Januar 2006.

It seems the joint struggle in Bil'in that attract international and national attention make them hasitate. As it is now, there was a decree that forbide enlargement of the construct, and a 5th of january data for a hearing that even if occupation authority decide to destroy it, they will have to serve a 30 days notice in advance for judicial steps against that decision.
Ignorance making the news yet again
bodhiman 28.Dec.2005 16:20
i don't know about you but i don't feel any pity for these fools. i've learned over the years that there are some neurotic humans who insist on creating tension and turmoil so they have something to battle. if they want to operate on handed down make believe ideas and 'sacred' texts and refuse to think for themselves then let them destroy each other. No Isreali nor Palestinian has any right to the land that they live on, the land owns them, and will consume thier bodies one day. We are all one being, we are all one race: the human race. Don't let the ignorance and stubborness of the past cripple the future of unlimited possibilties.

Update of the second coming of the Bil’in Peace ‘Outpost’
Ilan S. 29.Dec.2005 12:27
Wednesday evening we lighted in the center the Hanuka second candle and a simpathizer of the neighbor orthodox settlemen did the ceremony (;=)
Israelis from the Anarchists Against The Wall and activists from Bil'in popular commity against the fence had a nice get togather.
We viewd a DVD covering lot of the last 10 monthes joint struggle direct action and demonstrations in Bil'in.
At night few of us slept there or just pased the night around a fire.
Surprise surprise, though the center one room building has no door or windproof roof, the night was not too cold due to the friendship, warm clothing and good sleeping bags...

What about Islam?
Ansar al-Zindiqi 25.Jan.2006 19:46
It seems that the comments of the activists here are less than honest. Why no comments about the nature of Islam and how it influences the Palestinians? Is it too much for the granola crowd? Or is the granola crowd just spewing out chick peas of protestations that have been fed to them by Muslims? Anyways, check out faithfreedom.org before you think you are right about Israel. Build more walls if you want to stay alive. I would and I'm not even white, Jewish or Christian.
