Peace In Israel
Wolv 27.Jun.2006 22:22
Haven't the Palestinians been launching rockets at Israel though? I heard that they have launched over 1000 rockets in the last year at Israel and killed 5 people there. Maybe Israel is defending itself? I think I would if someone kept shooting rockets at me.
So what else is new?

violence begets violence, this cycle won't stop until somebody steps up and stops it!
civil liberties, perspective and hats
bob dobbs 28.Jun.2006 17:21
wolv: kinda true but pretty out of perspective
basim: damn right. my hat is off to you.
this peace-activist ban is news and worrying at that. i don't need to rant to get anyone aware of the slowly decaying civil liberties eroding further around us, quickest, sadly enough, in the so-called 'free and civilised nations'. looks like israel is just following suit in destroying the rights that our parents and grand-parents fought for and that we now take for granted so much that many of us can't see it dissapearing under our noses.
Death to Israel
David 29.Jun.2006 09:50
Death to Israel.
It's gone too far. There's nothing Israel can do to redeem itself. The nation is a bad accident of history... a Western imposition on the world. Israel will last exactly as long as Western supremacy lasts... it won't outlast US hegemonic power.
Im not averse to the Jewish people having somewhere to hang their hats. I'd like to see the dismantling of Israel achieved peacefully, if that were possible. But Israel has abandoned any right to continued existence. Looks like it'll have to be somewhere else - I'd suggest somewhere on the devastated, ugly North American continent.
I look forward to a day when Israel is no more. Although I may not live to see it, it's not in question. Death to Israel.
if violence begets violence...
taoye 01.Jul.2006 21:39
out of proportion? Sure, the NYT is reporting children injured in the latest attack, yet fails to describe by whom or how the injuries or deaths occured. Or we get photos of Palestinians setting up roadside bombs to defend against the Israelis which will likely kill an IDF soldier and blow up a house next to it, and it'll get blamed on a mysterious "israeli rocket".
Why don't you stand up and decry Hamas, Fatah and al-Aqsa's continued violence?
Why don't you stand up against those daily rocket firings into Israel?
Why don't you stand up against the countless suicide bombers to murder Israelis?
Why don't you call for the Palestinians to rise up against the people within their own land claiming to represent them, who got them into this mess in the first place?
How is their violence any more justified than Isreal's? Come on.

Palestinian "Peace Activists"
Astounded 02.Jul.2006 07:57
So now the Palestinians, who elected the Hamas, a group of people most notable for handing out candy after their carefully orchestrated suicide bombings, are peace activists. This is about as delusional as human thinking can get.
I'm tired of hearing about Palestinian steadfastness on the international dime. These guys do nothing except collect charity to turn around and make bombs and missiles to attack Israel. There is nothing positive - absolutely nothing - coming out of these territories.
There are billions of starving people in the world. People who endure all kinds of hardship simply by fate. People who really are peaceful and if given an opportunity, would snatch it up to be productive and change their lives for the better. The Palestinians are not such a group of people. Israel has bent over backwards to give these people a chance to do something besides terrorism, with obvious consequences. People here seem to want a Palestinian state; I don;t see the point. The world has enough problems without feeding the blood lust of islamofascists. The root problem in this conflict is Arab intolerance, and the solution is not to tolerate it. This failed experiment should dry up and blow away. There's no need for a Palestinian state or a Palestinian. I don't even think there is such a thing.
Forfeiting Jerusalem
david 02.Jul.2006 12:21
Astounded.. you can go on being astounded while Jerusalem is forfeited and Israel disappears into history...
This has gone a long way beyond the possibility of talking people round with a few cheap lies about Israel's good intentions.
In fact, your comment, and a couple of others here, indicate just how estranged the orthodox Israeli perspective has become, compared with world opinion and with compassionate, humanist sentiment in general. Look up some Nazi justifications for treatment of homosexuals, ethnic minorities, and dissidents in the thirties and forties. Sickening ironic similarities abound.
It's already too late for the Israeli government and military to atone, apologise, pay reparations... the grievances are too significant. Like the United States all Israel will suffer in future for the present cruelties visited upon the Palestinian people. In one generation or five, no matter, the descendants of today's Israelis - Astounded, we might be talking of your future grandchildren - will bear the cost of the ongoing genocide.
This isn't a threat - it's a historical reality - we pay in blood for the cruelty of our ancestors. Israel has forfeited Jerusalem, and possession of that land will change hands again, most likely in the current century.
Don't expect mercy.
fake
blah 06.Jul.2006 11:54
given the context of the article, the image is fake.
1. folliage has grown up and over the rubble
2. the rubble is clean and consistent in general size and shape
3. no blast scaring on any rubble
4. no damage to the folliage nearby
5. no evidence this is even a civilian target; no furniture, no signs of utilities
the progandist alarm rings loudest in the ears of the deaf! fake photo.
Also jetzt mal ehrlich.

Diskussionen offen
