Genoa 6 years later: We are the history
25 Nov 2007 23:19 GMT50 thousand people returned to the streets of Genoa on November 17th to protest the recent charges against 25 people accused of devastation and sacking. The peaceful demonstration was a protest against the Italian government decision to not create a special facts commission on the G8 in Genoa in 2001 and against the latest decision of prosecutors to propose 225 years in jail and a hundred thousand euros fine for hurting the reputation of Genoa. Meanwhile, the court cases against police officers for the tortures in Bolzaneto and for the raid in the Diaz school move slowly forward (one will be ending by the end of the year and the other around summer 2008) towards meek convictions and statute of limitations after the first court sentence. People were protesting against a reinterpretation of Genoa G8 history and a clean and one-sided version of the events: Police acted correctly and protesters are still overestimating the abuses.

Vorschlag fόr eine Solidaritδtsinitiative fόr die Angeklagten von Genua 2001
Wδhrend die erste Phase des G8 Prozesses gegen die 25 Genossen und
Genossinnen innerhalb weniger Wochen beendet sein wird, wδchst in uns
der Wille alles zu tun um die Solidaritδt durch Kampf und Initiativen zu
stδrken.
Der Prozess von Genua steht im Kontext mit anderen Prozessen, wie z.B.
dem Prozess in Mailand wegen der antifaschistischen Aktion vom 11. Mδrz
2006 und in Turin wegen einer anderen Antifademo, weil immer die gleiche
Anklage benutzt wird: "Verwόstung und Plόnderung." Ein Delikt das mit
Haft von 8 bis 15 Jahren bestraft wird.
Das Urteil im mailδnder Prozess (6 Jahre Strafe, die durch den
abgekόrzten Ritus 4 geworden sind) ist das erste Mal, dass dieser
Artikel nach politischen Aktionen benutzt wird, und stellt fόr den Genua
Prozess einen gefδhrlichen Prδzedenzfall dar.
Die Solidaritδtsdemo vom 17. November, bei der 100.000 Leute auf die
Straίen von Genua zurόckgekehrt sind, war ein sehr wichtiges Moment,
soll aber nur ein erster Schritt in Richtung anderer
Solidaritδtsinitiativen sein.
Unser Vorschlag ist eine internationale Initiative am 8. Dezember zu
organisieren und zu koordinieren: in vielen verschiedenen Stδdten
kφnnten die Genossinnen und Genossen vor den italienischen Konsulaten
und Botschaften, vor Gefδngnissen oder Justizpalδsten demonstrieren, um
ihrer Solidaritδt mit den Angeklagten von Genua Ausdruck zu verleihen.
Die Proteste gegen den G8-Gipfel haben immer eine internationale
Bedeutung und eine
internationale Beteiligung gehabt. Und wδhrend die Ordnungskrδfte uns
allen schon 2001 ganz klar zeigten, dass sie ein autoritδres politisches
Projekt realisierten, mit dem
tragischen Hφhepunkt von Carlo's Tod, drόckt sich dieses politische
Projekt heute in der Arbeit des Richteramtes aus. Die 25 Angeklagten
sollen als Sόndenbφcke, fόr all jene bezahlen, die in Genua anwesend
waren. Dies soll eine Mahnung sein, fόr diejenigen die sich trauen
aufzuschreien und zu rebellieren.
Genau das Gegenteil passierte in der Zwischenzeit mit den Prozessen
gegen Polizei und Carabinieri, wegen dem Gemetzel in der Diaz Schule
oder wegen der Folter in der Bolzaneto Kaserne: niemand wird fόr diese
Verbrechen bezahlen.
Genua 2001 reprδsentiert einen qualitativen Anstieg der Repression, der
sich spδter auch in allen Lδndern und Stδdten vergegenwδrtigt hat: im
Juli 2001 hat die Polizei auf die Demonstrationen geschossen, hat brutal
zugeschlagen, hat in den Kasernen gefoltert, wδhrend
Regierungsmitglieder lδchelnd zuschauten.
All dies war der erste Schritt einer Sicherheits- und
Repressionspolitik, die in den letzten sechs Jahren unsere Leben
verδndert und die Bewegungen torpediert hat, mit der Arbeit der Richter
und den schwerwiegenden Anklagen und Strafen.
Wir glauben, dass die Solidaritδtsinitiative fόr die 25 Angeklagten
einen internationalen Charakter haben kφnnte. Denn in Genua angeklagt,
ist die internationale antikapitalistische und antifaschistische
Bewegung, die sich von Seattle bis Rostock gegen die Mδchtigen der
reichsten Lδnder der Welt erhoben hat.
In ihren verschiedenen Realitδten hat sich die Repression international
in den verschieden autoritδren Projekten vergegenwδrtigt. Zuletzt
wδhrend der Mobilisierung gegen den G8-Gipfel in Rostock, mit den
massenhaften Festnahmen und den aktuell laufenden Verfahren. Daher
unser Vorschlag am gleichen Tag unsere stδrkste Solidaritδt und auch
unsere Komplizenschaft mit den 25 Angeklagten zu zeigen.
Niemals frei solange der letzte noch ein Sklave ist!

Proposicion de mobilisation internacional en solidarieda con los
imputados del G8 de genova
Esperando la sentencia por los 25 companeros y companeras por el proceso
del g8 es augmentado el deseo de tentar de declinar a lo maximo las
formas de solidariedad y lucha.
El
proceso de Genova es legado a los de milan y torino por la utilisation
del crimen de "devastation y sacaje" que prevede de 8 a 15 anos aplicado
a las manifestaciones de protesta y lucha plitica.
La
sentencia de apelac ion por los echos del 11-03-2006 a estado el primer
precediente judiciario (6 anos reducidos a 4 por efecto del rito
abreviado por los 15 antifaixistas imputados) projectando una peligrosa
hombra en el imminiente exito del proceso g8.
Sabado 17 de noviembre a rapresentado una fecha importante. L'esperancia
es que sea solamiente un primero pasaje a lo que aremos seguir otras
initiativas esperando la fecha de la sentencia. El tentativo, que
tenemos que portar adelante todos y todas en la manera la mas coordinada
posible, potria ser de indicar una jornada, sabado 8 deciembre, de
mobilitacion simultanea en numerosas ciudades italianas y extrangeras,
con presidios/presencias en lugar simbolicos (palacios de justicia,
carceles, ambasadas, consulados...). El g8 ha tenido un caracter
internacional. Si en el 2001 la policia italiana habia dadopruebas de
las decisiones politicas realizadas en la gestion de la protesta
culminada con l'asesinio de Carlo Giuliani, hoy la magistratura sigue
sus huellas con la peticion de condanationes exorbitantes por los
manifestantes: verdaderos y proprios chivos expiatorios, que segun
l'ipotesis de la procura dobrian "pagar por todos" con peticiones de
penas muy pesadas, hasta 16 anos de reclusion. Pagar en modo exemplar
para que sea un eficaz monito para todos lo que en futuro atreveran
rebelarse.
A
lo contrario, los dos procesos en carga a las fuerzas del orden, por el
masacro a la escuela Diaz y por las torturas en la caserma de Bolzaneto,
estan todavia en fase de vista y la sentencia de primer grado no sera
emetida antes del proximo ano.
Sentencia que, aunque sea el resultado, por la casi totalidad del los
crimen contextados, sera solamiente formal, en cuanto entro poco tiempo
la prescripcion anulera todo con un golpe de esponja.
En italia los dias del julio 2001 han rapresentado una division en la
gestion del orden publicoy de la protesta: la policia que dispara sobre
los manifestantes, l'asesinado de Carlo Giuliani, los blindados lanzados
a velocidad loca en contra de las personas, la "carniceria mejicana" en
la escuela Diaz, las torturas a Bolzaneto, las palizas indiscriminadas
de personas inermes, las devastacionesde ambulancias por la policia.
Todo esto mientras que los diputados de Aleancia Nacional, Ascierto y
Fini se trobaban en la central operativa de las fuerzas del orden.
Un
pasaje decisivo hacia la adopcion de politicas seguridarias y represivas
que, en este seis anos, han trasformado nuestras ciudades y atacado los
movimientos con la utilisacion del carcel preventivo y de crimen como la
"devastacion y sacaje" o la "asociacion subversiva".
El potencial respiro internacional de la iniciativa es dado dal facto
que bajo acusacion es el intero movimiento antifaixista y
anticapitalista que, despues Seattle, baja en plaza en contraposicion a
las reuniones, ultima la de Alemania, la proxima en Japon, en el 2009 en
Sardegna. La represion se a desplegada tambien por las mobilitaciones de
Rostock, con arrestos y procesos actualmente en corso. Cada situacion,
nacional y internacional, podria por lo tanto declinar su propria
adesion con riferimiento a su contexto local.
La
invitacion por lo tanto es de encontrar una fecha comun de mobilitacion
en nuestros proprios teritorios para exprimir nuestra maxima
solidariedad y complicidad con nuestros 25 companeros.

Proposal of international mobilitization of solidarity with the accused
of the genoese g8.
With the approach of the verdict for the 25 comrades of the g8 trial,
the desire to rise to the highest level the forms of solidarity and
fight has grown.
The genoese lawsuit is linked to those of Milan and Turin for the use of
the offence of "devastation and looting", which provides ultra-high
penalties (8 to 15 years), applied to the expression of dissent and
political clash.
The judgement on appeal to the events of March 11th has seen the
creation of his first former judicial (6 years, discounted to 4, for the
abbraviated rite, for 15 of anti-fascists defendants) projecting a
threatening shadow on the imminent outcome of the g8 process.
Saturday November 17th represents an important appointment. The hope is
that this is only the first step, which many other initiatives will
follow, in a virtuous mechanism in view of the day of judgment. The
attempt - to be made the most coordinated way possible by everyone -
could be to call a simultaneous mobilization day, December 8th, in many
Italian and foreign cities with protests in symbolic places (Law Courts,
prisons, embassies, consulates...).
G8 has been an international issue and, if in 2001, already, the Italian
police had shown the political choices made in the management of
dissent, which culminated with Carlo's murder, today the judiciary
follows in his footsteps with the request of exorbitant condemnations
for the demonstrators: the real heads scapegoats, who, according to the
hypothesis of the Prosecutor, should "pay for all" with very heavy
penalties, up to 16 years in prison. To pay in an exemplary way so that
it is an effective warning to all those who, in the future, will they
dare to rebel.
On the other side, the two trials for the security forces, for the
police massacre at Diaz and tortures at Bolzaneto, are still in the
process of hearings and the judgment of first instance will not be
issued before the next year.
Verdict that, however it will end, for almost the entire contested
crimes, will be just formal, since the prescription will shortly cancel
everything.
In Italy the days of July 2001 have represented a watershed in the
management of public order and dissent: the police shooting at
demonstrators; Carlo Giuliani's murder; the tanks running at a crazy
speed against people; "the mexican butchery" at Diaz; tortures at
Bolzaneto; indiscriminate beatings of defenceless people; the
devastation even of ambulances by the security forces. All of these
happened while AN's Honourables, Ascierto and Fini, were visiting the
operating centre of the security forces.
A crucial step towards acceptance of security policies and political
repression which, in these 6 years, have changed our cities and attacked
the movements through the use of the preventive detention and crimes as
"devastation and looting" or subversive association.
The potential international nature of the initiative is given by the
fact that the whole anti-fascist and anti-capitalist movement is under
charge, movement which, from Seattle on, comes out and sets against the
meetings, the last one in Germany, the next one in Japan, and in the
2009 in Italy.
The repression has been deployed even for the mobilization in Rostock,
with arrests and trials currently under process. Every situation,
national or international, could join with reference to the local context.
Therefore the call is to find a common date for mobilizations, everyone
in its own territory, to express the greatest solidarity and complicity
with the 25 comrades to the bar.
Never free as long as the last will be slave!

En attendant le jugement pour les 25 militants du procθs pour le g8,
notre volontι de chercher ΰ dιcliner au maximum les formes de solidaritι
et de lutte est augmentι.
Le procθs de Gθne est liι a ceux de Milan et Turin pour l'utilisation du
crime de « dιvastation et pillage » qui prιvois des peines trθs hautes
(de huit a quinze ans de prison) appliquιes aux manifestations de
proteste et lutte politique.
La sentence d'appel pour les faits de l'11 mars 2006 a vue la crιation
d'un premier prιcθdent judiciaire (6 ans rιduits a 4 pour le rite abrιgι
pour les quinze imputes antifascistes) projetant une ombre menacante sur
l'issue imminente du procθs g8.
Samedi 17 novembre 2007 a reprιsente une journιe importante. L'espιrance
est que ce soit seulement un premier pas a lequel il faut faire suivre
des autres initiatives en attendant le jour de la sentence. La
tentative, que tous le monde doit porter en avant en la maniθre la plus
coordonne possible, pourrait κtre donc d'indiquer une journιe, samedi 8
dιcembre 2007, de mobilisation simultanι en nombreuses villes italiennes
et ιtrangθres, avec notre prιsence en lieux symboliques (palais de
justice, prisons, ambassades, consulats...). Le g8 a eu un caractθre
international et, si dιjΰ en 2001, la police italienne avait donnes la
preuve des dιcisions politiques opιrιes dans la gestion de la proteste,
culmine avec l'assassinat de Carlo Giuliani, aujourd'hui la magistrature
suit ses traces avec la requκte de condamnations exorbitantes pour les
manifestants, vrais et propres boucs ιmissaires, qui selon l'hypothθse
de la procure devraient « payer pour tous » avec la requκte de peines
trθs hautes, jusqu'ΰ 16 ans de rιclusion. Payer en mode exemplaire pour
que se soit un efficace avertissement pour tous ceux qui, en futur,
oserons se rebeller.
Au contraire, les deux procθs a charge des forces de l'ordre, pour le
massacre Diaz et les tortures a Bolzaneto, sont encore en phase de dιbat
et la sentence de premier degrιs ne sera pas donnιs avant de l'annιe
prochaine.
Sentence qui pour la quasi-totalitι des crimes contestes sera seulement
formelle, vue que dans peut de temps interviendra la prescription a
effacer tout avec un coup d'ιponge.
En Italie les journιes de juillet 2001 ont reprιsentes une ligne de
sιparation pour la gestion de l'ordre publique e de la proteste : La
police qui tire sur les manifestants, l'assassinat de Carlo Giuliani,
les blindes lances a folle vιlocitι contre les personnes, la « boucherie
mexicaine » a l'ιcole Diaz, les tortures a Bolzaneto, les raclιes
indiscriminιs sur des personnes inoffensives, les dιvastations de la
part des forces de l'ordre de auto ambulances. Tout ηa pendant que des
dιputιs de Alliance Nationale, Ascierto et Fini se trouvaient dans la
centrale opιrative des forces de l'ordre.
Un passage dιcisif vers l'approbation des politiques sιcuritaires et
rιpressives qui, dans les 6 derniθres annιes, ont transforme nos villes
et attaques les mouvements avec l'utilisation de la incarcιration
prιventive et de crimes comme la « dιvastation et pillage » ou
l' « association subversive ».
Le potentiel engagement international de l'initiatives est donne du fait
que a κtre sous accusation est l'entier mouvement antifasciste et
anticapitaliste qui, depuis Seattle en avant ; descend dans la rue pour
se contraposι aux rιunions du g8, la dernier fois en Allemagne, la
prochaine en japon, en 2009 en Sardaigne. La rιpression s'est dιployιe
aussi pour les mobilisations de Rostock, avec des arrestations et des
procθs actuellement en cours. Chaque situation, nationale et
internationale, pourrait donc dιcliner sa propre adhιsion en se
rapportant au contexte local.
L'invitation est donc celle de trouver une date commune de mobilisation
chacun dans son territoire pour exprimer au maximum notre solidaritι et
complicitι avec nos 25 compagnons.

Proposta mobilitazione internazionale di solidarietΰ con gli imputati
del G8 genovese
Con l'avvicinarsi della sentenza per i 25 compagni e compagne del
processo G8 θ cresciuto il desiderio di provare a declinare al massimo
le forme di solidarietΰ e lotta.
La vicenda processuale genovese θ legata a quelle di Milano e Torino per
l'uso del reato di "devastazione e saccheggio" che prevede pene
altissime (da otto a quindici anni) applicato alle manifestazioni di
dissenso e scontro politico.
La sentenza d'appello per i fatti dell'11 marzo ha visto la creazione
del suo primo precedente giudiziario (6 anni scontati a 4 per il rito
abbreviato per 15 degli antifascisti imputati) proiettando una
minacciosa ombra sull'imminente esito del processo g8.
Sabato 17 novembre rappresenta un appuntamento importante. La speranza θ
che sia solo un primo passaggio a cui far seguire, in un meccanismo
virtuoso, altre iniziative in vista del giorno della sentenza. Il
tentativo - che da portare avanti tutti e tutte nella maniera piω
coordinata possibile - potrebbe essere di indire una giornata, sabato 8
dicembre, di mobilitazione simultanea in numerose cittΰ italiane ed
estere, con presidi/presenze in luoghi simbolici (palazzi di
giustizia/carceri/ambasciate/consolati...).
Il G8 ha avuto un carattere internazionale e, se giΰ nel 2001 la polizia
italiana aveva dato prova delle scelte politiche operate nella gestione
del dissenso, culminate con l'omicidio di Carlo, oggi la magistratura
segue le sue orme con la richiesta di condanna esorbitanti per i
manifestanti: veri e propri capi espiatori, che secondo l'ipotesi della
Procura dovrebbero " pagare per tutti" con richieste di pena
pesantissime, fino a 16 anni di reclusione. Pagare in modo esemplare
affinchι sia un'efficace monito rivolto a tutti coloro che, in futuro,
oseranno ribellarsi.
Al contrario, i due processi a carico delle forze dell'ordine, per il
massacro poliziesco della Diaz e le torture a Bolzaneto, sono ancora in
fase di dibattimento e la sentenza di primo grado non sarΰ emessa prima
del prossimo anno.
Sentenza che, comunque vada, per la quasi totalitΰ dei reati
contestati, sarΰ solo formale, in quanto a breve interverrΰ la
prescrizione a cancellare tutto con un colpo di spugna.
In Italia le giornate del luglio 2001 hanno rappresentato uno
spartiacque nella gestione dell'ordine pubblico e del dissenso:la
Polizia che spara sui manifestanti, l'omicidio di Carlo Giuliani, i
blindati lanciati a folle velocitΰ contro le persone, "la macelleria
messicana" alla Diaz, le torture a Bolzaneto, i pestaggi indiscriminati
di persone inermi, le devastazioni da parte delle forze dell'ordine
anche di autoambulanze. Tutto questo mentre onorevoli di An, Ascierto e
Fini si trovavano nelle centrali operative delle Forze dell'ordine.
Un passaggio decisivo verso l'avvallamento delle politiche securitarie e
della repressione politica che, in questi sei anni, hanno trasformato le
nostre cittΰ e attaccato i movimenti con l'utilizzo della carcerazione
preventiva e di reati come la devastazione e saccheggio o l'associazione
sovversiva.
Il potenziale respiro internazionale dell'iniziativa θ dato dal fatto
che ad essere sotto accusa θ l'intero movimento antifascista e
anticapitalista che, da Seattle in poi, scende in piazza per
contrapporsi ai vertici, ultimo nell'ordine di tempo quello in Germania,
il prossimo in Giappone, nel 2009 in Sardegna. La repressione si θ
dispiegata anche per le mobilitazioni di Rostock, con arresti e processi
attualmente in corso. Ogni situazione, nazionale ed internazionale,
potrebbe quindi declinare la propria adesione con riferimento al
contesto locale.
L'invito quindi θ quello di trovare una data comune di mobilitazioni nei
propri territori per esprimere la massima solidarietΰ e complicitΰ con i
25 compagni alla sbarra.
Mai liberi finchθ l'ultimo sarΰ schiavo!
