Grand Opening!, Boston's premier sexuality boutique, has once again revolutionized what it means to sell sex toys. GO! workers have voted to join with UNITE HERE! and form the Grand Opening! Workers' Union. They have taken this step due to the high turnover rate of good employees, the lack of adequate benefits, the lack of a consistently fair living wage, the desire for a meaningful voice in the workplace, and the lack of a formal grievance process, among other issues. This is a call for all pissed off liberals; for anyone who is sick and tired of the Rush Limbaughs, the Dennis Hasterts, the Rumsfelds, the Karl Roves, and the Bush empire pushing their conservative agendas at our expense. This is a call for us to reclaim the much-maligned "liberal" title and show that we will no longer be pushed around and made ashamed of our ideals. DNC 2 RNC March Arrives in Manhattan!, 27.08.2004 04:17 The connection between the oppressive Democrats and the oppressive Republicans has finally been made! Over 500 people marched down the last bit of New York's Broadway and entered Union Square park triumphant, having marched 258 miles in 28 days spreading the message that the two party system does not and could not possibly represent the vast diversity that now resides in the United States. RNC actions kick off with high-spirited entrance by DNC marchers, 27.08.2004 02:57
#media_16269;left#The DNC 2 RNC march began in Boston following the Democratic National Convention, and arrived in Manhattan today. They had been marching for over a month and for 258 miles. The reason for the march, according to the DNC2RNC, is that, "rather than representing the interests of the people, both Democrats and Republicans choose to build systems of violent exploitation." The march bridged the DNC protests in July with the upcoming RNC protests, and called attention to the overwhelming similarities between the Democrats and the Republicans. At 8AM, the marchers teamed up with the Green Bloc for a few hours of gardening in the Brook Park Tree Farm, a community garden in the South Bronx. They continued marching downtown, through Central Park, and were greeted by hundreds of people in Columbus Circle at 5PM. After a short break, from there, they marched towards Union Square. En route to Union Square, the march picked up participants, including a 200-strong Bike Bloc, and over 1500 marchers total. The march was strong enough to take the streets for about 20 blocks through downtown Manhattan. There were several arrests throughout the day, but none directly related to the march. Members of the march were amazed at the strength and positivity of the DNC 2 RNC arrival, especially considering the the RNC is still four days away. Those that have been on the March since the DNC were emboldened by the show of support and solidarity from the activists who met and marched with them through Manhattan. According to one marcher who joined in Manhattan, the air of celebration and solidarity made it seem "almost like the police weren't there." photos: [here] RNC actions kick off with high-spirited entrance by DNC marchers, 27.08.2004 02:57

Over one hundred people gathered in Confucious Park, Chinatown today to protest the Bush administration's wars- at home and abroad. In a spirited rally, speakers broke down the impact of Bush's war agenda on Chinatown residents in dollar-per-hour amounts: "The cost of war and occupation in Iraq over a period of four hours is $30 million. This money could be used to provide job training for all Chinatown workers who lost their jobs after 9/11. One and a half days of war in Iraq costs $239 million, which would be enough to provide health care for all Chinatown residents. " Chinatown Youth Protest Bush Policies, 27.08.2004 01:19

In Mr. Broder's column in black and white, in 784 words is all one needs to understand why George W. Bush was successful in lying his country into a war that has killed and maimed tens of thousands.
