Η αστυνομία καταλαμβάνει έκταση με τροχόσπιτα στην Κριστιάνια της Κοπεγχάγης

Επιθυμούσαν να κρατήσουν την αυτονομία τους και τις δομές αυτοδιαχείρισης της λήψης αποφάσεων που έχουν κρατήσει τη λειτουργία του χώρου για πάνω από 20 χρόνια...

Περίπου στις 9μιση σήμερα το πρωί (Τετάρτη 7 Σεπτέμβρη), περίπου 200 αστυνομικοί, με εξοπλισμό ειδικών δυνάμεων, κατέλαβαν την ελεύθερη έκταση της Κριστιάνια, στην Κοπεγχάγη. Αμέσως σφράγισαν το "Fredens Eng" (το λιβάδι της ειρήνης), που αποτελεί κομμάτι της τοποθεσίας όπου κόσμος ζει σε τροχόσπιτα. Όλοι όσοι βρίσκονταν εκεί (μερικοί εκ των οποίων ντυμένοι κλόουν) συνελήφθησαν.
Τα νέα για την κατάσταση σύντομα διαδόθηκαν και περισσότερος κόσμος έτρεξε για συμπαράσταση. Ακολούθησε κατάσταση αναβρασμού και αναταραχής. Μεμονωμένα άτομα πέταξαν νερό στην αστυνομία, αλλά όχι κάτι σημαντικό. Η αστυνομία ωστόσο συμπεριφέρθηκε πολύ βίαια. Πιθανότατα σε μια από τις πιο μαζικές συλλήψεις που έχουν γίνει ποτέ στη Δανία, ο αρχηγός της αστυνομίας υπολόγισε τον αριθμό των συλληφθέντων σε 111. Η κατάσταση ηρέμησε καθώς η αστυνομία έφυγε από την Κριστιάνια. Υπάρχουν διάφορες αναφορές για τραυματίες.
Ο εκπρόσωπος τύπου της δανέζικης αστυνομίας, Flemming Steen Munck, δήλωσε στο modkraft.dk (αριστερό δανέζικο μέσο ενημέρωσης) ότι οι συλλήψεις πραγματοποιήθηκαν με ειρηνικό τρόπο. Όμως, άλλοι αναφέρουν μια πολύ δύσκολη κατάσταση. Ένας 17χρονβο διαδηλωτής είπε: "Η αστυνομία μας έβαλε στη γωνία με πολύ βίαιο τρόπο. Εισέπραξα τελείως απρόκλητα μια γροθιά στο στομάχι. Παρότι έβηχα κι αιμορραγούσε το χείλος μου, δεν με άφησαν να φύγω. Αντιθέτως, με συνέλαβαν."
Η σημερινή κυβέρνηση της Δανίας φαίνεται να κρατάει εχθρική στάση απέναντι στην Κριστιάνια. Μέχρι προσφάτως η Κριστιάνια ήταν αυτοδιαχειριζόμενη, υπό την έννοια ότι δεν χρειάζονταν άδεια για να χτίσει κανείς νέο οίκημα ή να παρκάρει το τροχόσπιτό του στο χώρο. Ωστόσο, πρόσφατος νόμος (L205) ορίζει ότι τα τρέιλερ πρέπει να φύγουν ώστε να λάβει χώρα περαιτέρω ανάπτυξη. Ο κόσμος της Κριστιάνι αντιστάθηκε στη νέα νομοθεσία, καθώς υπό καμιά συνθήκη δεν ενδιαφέρονται για περαιτέρω ανάπτυξη. Επιθυμούν να κρατήσουν την αυτονομία τους και τις αυτοδιαχειριζόμενες δομές λήψης αποφάσεων, που έχουν κρατήσει τη λειτουργία του χώρου πάνω από 20 χρόνια.

US and British pilots whose bombs killed Iraqi civilians were murderers, and actions taken by those two countries during the invasion and occupation of Iraq amounted to terrorism, former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad has said.
Several British and US diplomats walked out in protest of Mahathir's broadside against their countries in a speech at a national conference in Kuala Lumpur on human rights on Friday.
Mahathir, who ruled Malaysia for 22 years before retiring in 2003, also defended his human-rights record in government. He was often criticised for detaining suspects without trial under a security law and for the imprisonment of former deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Mahathir decried the deaths of thousands of Iraqi civilians as a result of the US-led military invasion and occupation. He compared American and British actions in Iraq to rocket attacks by Israel on Palestinians, and referred to those countries as "these terrorist nations".

"The British and American bomber pilots came, unopposed, safe and cosy in their state of the art aircraft, pressing buttons to drop bombs, to kill and maim," Mahathir said of the Iraq invasion.

"Who are the terrorists? The people below who were bombed or the bombers? Whose rights have been snatched away?"
He also questioned why there was no tally of Iraqi deaths while every US soldier's killing is documented.
"These are soldiers who must expect to be killed. But the Iraqis who die because of the US action or the civil war in Iraq that the US has precipitated are innocent civilians who under the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein would be alive," said Mahathir.
'It was a lie'
Mahathir, who when in power was a US ally in the fight against terrorism although he opposed the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, noted that Washington's reason for invading Iraq was that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction.
"As we all know it was a lie," he said.
"Who are the terrorists? The people below who were bombed or the bombers? Whose rights have been snatched away"
"Worse still, the powers which are supposed to save the Iraqi people have broken international laws on human rights by detaining Iraqis and others and torturing them at Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib and elsewhere," he said, referring to US prison camps.
British High Commissioner Bruce Cleghorn and several unidentified US officials attending the conference walked out midway through Mahathir's speech.
British and US diplomats were not immediately available for comment.
Very distasteful
Hamdan Adnan, a senior official with the state-backed National Human Rights Commission, described the diplomats' action as "very distasteful.
"If they claim to subscribe to the democratic process, why can't they listen?" he told The Associated Press.
The US accused Mahathir of rights violations when he fired Anwar as his deputy in 1998.
Anwar was arrested after leading anti-government rallies, and sentenced to 15 years in prison on corruption and sodomy charges. He was freed on appeal last year, after serving the corruption sentence

Nice little article of how the police are behaving (or not behaving) themselves. Allthough, the case about the trailers is not correct. Christiania had for some weeks a happening to set focus on the problem ; that young people are having a hard time with finding recidence in copenhagen. The trailers were dragged into christiania as a Happening to set focus on that problem. this happening were to last for a month or so. But, the danish "Property-Union" (don't know what to call it in english) interprented this as a new PERMANENT RECIDENCE in Christiania , witch was indeed NOT the case. The trailers were NOT meant as a new permanent recidence but as a happening as written above. The police dragged the trailers with them and left 8 people homeless, or short, they expanded the recidence-problems in copenhagen with 8 people.....

For all practical purposes its copyleft. However the photographer needs some payment as he is professional so he cannot afford commercial institutions use it without paying him a piece of th gold. In denmark our commercial medias take whatever they can from open projects so its kinda nescesarry to avoid profit being made from your stuff.
