Thousands of peasant successfully organised encirclements and sit-in strikes program in front of DC (Deputy Commissioner) office in Kurigram district in Bangladesh.

15 November 2005 there was a big action program by Bangladesh Krishok Federation (BKF) & Bangladesh Kishani Sabha (BKS) in Kurigram district in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Krishok Federation & Bangladesh Kishani Sabha is biggest peasant and rural based organisation in Bangladesh. They have land movement to occupy Government fellow land and distribute among landless people according to land low of Bangladesh. In Kurigram district they build-up organisation and occupy railway fallow land in 22 December 2004 in Vurungamari Thana (sub district) in this district. After occupying DC was gone against of landless people and support to big landowners for reoccupy this fellow land. For this reason BKF & BKS jointly organised a big rally and encircled DC office and sit-in strike.
When they entered in DC office area with a militant big rally, DC was leave to office on the back door. They encircled and sit-in strikes and discloses by speech all malpractice of DC against landless people. They demand remove of DC. They announced an ultimatum of three month and if in the three month DC doesn't remove they will organise strong movement against DC.
There was 7 point demand of this program:
(1) Removal to DC (Deputy Commissioner) of Kurigram,
(2) Withdrew all false Cases against filed landless people.
(3) Take will be initiative of all Cases which filed to big land donors & terrors.
(4) Fake landless Association should be cancelled.
(5) Occupied land must be settled among the landless people.
(6) Proper security should be given to landless people who are living in the occupied fallow land.
(7) Sufficient food security to famine affected people.
