Dans le début de matinée du 21 juillet, des skinheads néo-nazis ont lancé une attaque vicieuse et gratuite contre un camp anti-nucléaire non violent à Angarsk, en Sibérie (Russie). Les nazis ont violemment attaqué les activistes, à ce moment encore dans leurs sacs de couchages, avec des barres de fer, des couteaux et des pistolets à air comprimé. Un activiste de 21 ans originaire de Vladivistock, Ilya Borodaenko, a subi une fracture à la tête et est décédé à l'hopital des suites de ses blessures. Au moins neuf autres sont sérieusement blessés, dont un a les deux jambes cassées. Les nazis ont mis le feu aux tentes et des objets personnels ont été volés..

Le camp avait commencé le week-end dernier, son but était de protester contre un projet de centre d'enrichissement d'uranium à Angarsk. Dès l'arrivée des activistes, la police a chercher à les intimider et est entrée dans le camp pour tenter de réunir des informations sur les actions prévues. L'organisation à l'origine du camp, 'Ecological Wave of Baikal', avait prévu diverses manifestations autour de la zone dans le but d'informer la population sur le projet et trouver des soutiens à leur campagne. If they knew there was an expected attack from a group of Neo-Nazis, the responsible thing to do would be to have contacted a group like Anti-Racist-Action who could have promoted a call to arms, or make a plea to other Anarchist organizations so that when the Nazis should up they would be confronted black block style. We have a right to defend ourselves.
