A description of the process and intention of the making of my magic finger
I would like to introduce you to my magic finger. It's not really magic, actually, but it works like magic so hence the name.
For those of you who can't see...my magic finger is a digitally remastered image of my middle finger (aka the profane finger) with a smiley face drawn on it. The smiley face is the kind of smiley face that has two dot eyes and a curve for a mouth, and I drew one just like this on the fleshy side of my middle fingertip with a black permanent marker...that has since washed off.
I made the magic finger not after reading about a dude who exploded himself on a bus and killed so many people, but because I had nothing to do one day so I wanted to make something...even at the risk of making something stupid.
Here's how it happened: I simply drew a smiley face on my profane finger and took a picture of it. Then I put a background behind it. Then I emailed it to a friend who told me to stop sending dirty pictures.
Oddly enough, almost the same number of people who are offended by my magic finger are delighted by my magic finger. But even more oddly, the people who claim to be "offended" by my magic finger will also admit to being at least 49% delighted by the image of my magic finger; likewise, those who are 51% delighted by my magic finger will (if you press them - and you must press them) are also 49% offended by the fact that you are flipping them off magicly.
One final thought: One thing that is very important is making sure you tell your enemies how you feel. Even when (and probably especially when) you and your enemies are not on speaking terms.
When you refrain from communicating your feelings with your enemy, you are censoring yourself. When you engage in self-censorship, you volunteer for the army of silence.
