Ours is the only American Family in the 21st Century to have a member secretly arrested and returned to his family a corpse with no explanation, arrest records, coroner’s report, excuse, and DENIED any investigation. When Larry Neal’s family contracted with The (Johnnie) Cochran Firm to bring wrongful death lawsuit against the jail, that law firm instead acted in an undisclosed conflict of interest and committed fraud to protect the jail from exposure and damages. The managing partner of the Memphis office of the law firm was himself a 20+year member of the Shelby County Commission, which owns and operates the jail where Larry died. This writer discovered that several other mental patients or their families have filed federal lawsuits alleging abuse and wrongful death by the Shelby County/Memphis Jail and Memphis police officers. Their lawsuits are also curtailed, as far as this writer knows.

This writer is reaching out to the Independent Media Center because this family’s denial of justice following the wrongful death of Larry Neal, a lifelong mentally ill heart patient, is censored in American media. Because this writer found a way to get the story out via Internet news, she suffers acts of intimidation by parties unknown, and may be in peril.

This writer uses online news sources to expose and denounce the imprisonment of 1.25 million Americans with mental dysfunctions, as such persons should be in hospitals or receiving care in their communities, not jailed for having a disability. But hospitals are closed across the country, and mental patients who are released with no mandates for continued psychiatric care are being used as “commodities” to keep privatized prisons full and profitable. This writer uses online news sources to protest mental patients being regularly injured and killed by live ammunition and Tasers during lunacy arrests and sometimes gassed or placed in dangerous Restraint Chairs during incarceration for having a common health problem: mental illness.

This writer has suffered censorship in the American mainstream media, attorney fraud by the (Johnnie Cochran Firm) and denial of justice in Georgia Superior Court, and tonight was chased by cars in an effort to intimidate her or worse.

This writer is a plaintiff in a federal lawsuit against The Johnnie Cochran Firm, and it is now mandatory for the Shelby County Jail, where Larry died, the USDOJ, The Cochran Firm, mainstream media, and others to explain the acts that were done to Larry Neal and to his family after his demise. As the time nears for trial, efforts to censor this writer and intimidate her and her family increase. When she called 911 for help when being followed on 9/27/08 by several vehicles, police never responded with assistance to her emergency report.
