National Marriage Equality Express Heads for Washington, DC

From October 4-11, 2004, Marriage Equality California, is spearheading a cross-country tour to Washington D.C. with stops in 10 cities, including kickoff rallies inthe Bay Area and Sacramento, to promote marriage equality. On Saturday, October 2nd, there will be a kickoff party from 6-9pm at the LGBT Center in San Francisco. On October 4th, Oakland City Council member Danny Wan will be hand-delivering a supportive resolution from the City Council to the caravan riders as they board the National Marriage Equality Express tour bus, from 6-7 am at Oakland's MacArthur BART Station. Also on Monday, there will be a rally at the State Capitol in Sacramento, from 9am to 10:15am, at 1003 L St, Sacramento, CA 95814.

The riders in the tour will include same-sex couples whose marriage licenses have been voided. These couples have issued a national call to action in support of marriage equality. More info on Indybay's LGBTQI/Queer News PAge
