Dozens of Indymedia videographers have contributed to Deep Dish TVs new series on the war on Iraq. The 12 half hour programs now airing on Free Speech TV and public access stations across the U.S. show the power of independent media and the strength of the collaborative journalism that has grown since the Battle in Seattle in 1999. Over 100 independent video makers, editors and producers were involved in the project. The Real Face of Occupation was edited by NY Indymedia activists Brandon Jourdan and Jackie Soohens and features the work of Bay Area videographer David Martinez who was in Fallujah during the first U.S. bombing. The World Says No To War presents footage from Indymedia centers in Europe, Latin America and Asia.
The series is streamed on the Deep Dish Website. All twelve programs will be aired at the Pioneer theater in the East Village (3rd St and Ave "A") for four nights January 19-22nd. (3 programs each night). The Real Face of Occupation will also be featured at a special screening on February 12 at 5:15 PM in the Museum of Modern Art. Deep Dish TV is also exploring collaborations for it's proposed new series From Attica to Abu Gharib.
