Congress Hotel Strike Passes Second Anniversary

Congress Hotel Picket

Some 700 to 1000 people took part in a solidarity rally on June 14, 2005 to mark the second anniversary of the start of the strike of the employees of the Congress Hotel in downtown Chicago. The rally involved a picket line spanning the entire front of the Congress Hotel

Unlike the 2004 anniversary, which saw an assortment of dramatic actions, the 2005 anniversary was accompanied by a more festive mood, as the strike was accompanied by a mariachi band, and a sound system playing music.
