Two weeks after the proclaimed ‘ceasefire’ in Lebanon, a group of 200 gathered in Athens Park, Queens for a march and rally to oppose Israeli aggression against Lebanon and Palestine. The diverse crowd included residents of the area, activist organizations, and a large number of families with children. Police were present but the event was peaceful.

Placards were held up depicting brutal photographs of U.S and Israeli inflicted devastation in the Middle East. Among the chants were, “Occupation is a crime! Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine!” and “Not another nickel, not another dime, no more money for Israel’s crime,” referring to U.S ongoing financial and political support of Israel.
