Approximately 20 community organization representatives from West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami, protested against recent attacks on the freedom of speech, at the Torch of Friendship in downtown Miami today, Saturday, February 3rd, by holding up signs that said, DEFEND FREEDOM OF SPEECH, FASCISM OUT OF MIAMI NOW! RESPECT FREEDOM OF SPEECH, LIBERTAD de EXPRESION, FREEDOM OF SPEECH APPLIES TO CALLE OCHO!, WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED! Community leaders spoke out about how our 1st Amendment rights are under attack in Miami as a result of the failure of City of Miami enforcement officials to take action to prevent violent assaults against those who advocate a change in US policy towards Cuba and Venezuela. They also demanded that Miami City Officials take action to defend free speech.
