Discussion: So how do you think it will go down ?

Ben, 08.01.2007 14:33

There's less than two years left. Public support is at astronomically low levels. The Saddam thing has pissed everybody off. They're holding off on announcements for things like Iraq strategy and charges, along with belated due process, for the Guantanamo detainees.

How do you think the next "Al Qaeda" strike will go down ?

Yeshe Choeang, 08.01.2007 08:32

(A Voice for Voiceless Tibetans)
Since arriving at Dharamsala again, I have met many open-minded and various scholars and students, as well as many Western experts on China and Tibet. Because of the encouraging and at times meaningfulness discussions, I have learned directly the Chinese view on the situation in Tibet, as well as the strong consequence these views have had on China scholars in the India, I would like to show my reflections on the forty-five years of Chinese. I already explained deeply and but briefly, the Communist Chinese Government’s justification of their occupation of Tibet, and it shows Tibetans view themselves as distinct from Chinese and other, it is about several basic issues also included.

Four Vermonters Tube West River Early January Morning

Janisse, 06.01.2007 03:43

Four Vermont activists tubed the West River in Vermont on January 5, 2007 Without a trace of snow on the ground and temperatures in the balmy 50s, four Vermont activists tubed the West River toward Brattleboro this morning to bring attention to global climate change and in protest of the Bush Administration‘s lack of action.
"There's usually one to two feet of ice on this river this time of year," said Jonathan Crowell, one of the floaters who organized the event. "It's ludicrous that we are able to tube it in January."
The tubers set out from Dummerston, Vermont on the West River, heading toward Brattleboro, where the West joins the Connecticut, to send a message to the new Congress: Act now to head off climate disruption.

Presently its precious coal and timber are owned by outsiders, causing money to leave the state and render it the second poorest state in the U.S. Establishing economic democracy means no outside ownership and putting economic power back into local regions.

Phase One of the continuing war started with Desert Storm on Jan. 17, 1991, followed by Phase Two, the sanctions, and Phase 3, the invasion — this last being the “three week war” that has so far lasted three years and 10 months, with no end in sight.
